Peptide Therapy

What are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that are produced naturally in the body. Each peptide attaches to a specific cell receptor and signals different intracellular effects, ultimately influencing how we look, feel, and function.

Many of these effects include triggering the release of important hormones that begin to decline as we age, which is why supplementing with peptides can be extremely beneficial for some individuals.

Since different peptides target different cell receptors with high specificity, they can be specifically tailored to improve a number of areas including body composition, aging, cognitive function, neurological function, and gut health, among others.

They are also considered very safe and well tolerated due to their natural occurrence in the body. Currently, compounded peptides are not approved by the FDA and are intended for research purposes only.

What peptides are being used therapeutically?

  • AOD 9604 is a modified fragment of human growth hormone (HGH) that has been specifically isolated for its ability to stimulate lipolysis (the breakdown of fat) and inhibit lipogenesis (the production of body fat). Injected subcutaneously, it can help stimulate the pituitary gland to increase metabolism and support fat loss. AOD 9604 is ideal for anyone looking to get rid of stubborn body fat.

  • BPC-157 is a fragment of body protection compound (BPC) that has been isolated from human gastric juice. Research suggests that BPC-157 can have profound effects on the healing of wounds including tendon-to-bone, ligament, and intestinal damage.

It can also protect organs and prevent the production of gastric ulcers. BPC-157 is ideal for anyone suffering from muscle sprains, tears, and damage, gastritis, GERD, heartburn, leaky gut syndrome, and Crohn’s disease.

  • Cerebrolysin is a nootropic drug consisting of peptides which possess neuroprotective and neurotrophic repair properties. Studies suggest that it improves efficiency within the brain’s aerobic metabolic processes and improves intracellular peptide synthesis. It may also help promote the growth of new brain cells, which helps improve brain cell communication.

The neuroprotective properties of this nootropic agent help to shield neurons from lactocidosis, prevent the formation of free radicals, and have been studied in individuals with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS, ALS, TBI, and stroke.

  • CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin work together to stimulate human growth hormone (HGH) production in the pituitary gland.

This increased release of human growth hormone can lead to a number of benefits including decreased fat storage, improved body composition, increased body mass and strength, improved sleep quality, increased energy, and accelerated recovery from workouts or injuries.

  • GHK-Cu consists of naturally occurring copper peptides that play an important role in skin biology. GHK-Cu has shown to stimulate collagen production, promote blood vessel growth, and reduce skin damage making it widely used in cosmetics and as an anti-aging ingredient. GHK-Cu can also promote wound healing and act as an anti-inflammatory compound.

  • NAD+ is an important cofactor that is essential for energy production in the mitochondria. Without it, our bodies would not be able to generate the energy needed for basic cellular functions. As we age, NAD+ levels steadily decline resulting in a slower metabolism. Supplementing with NAD+ can help your body repair DNA damage, increase energy production, improve metabolism, cognitive function, and mood, and provide a feeling of increased vigor and youthfulness.

  • Semaglutide has been recently approved by the FDA for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and long-term weight management. Semaglutide promotes sugar metabolism by increasing insulin production and slows the movement of food from the stomach to the small intestine, making you feel full faster and longer.

Semiglutide may also be beneficial for those suffering from hypertension, high cholesterol, sleep apnea or cardiovascular disease coexisting with a BMI over 30.

  • TA1 is naturally produced by the thymus gland and plays a very important role in the immune system. Studies show that TA1 prompts the thymus gland to produce disease-fighting T-cells, which locate and eliminate foreign invaders like bacteria, viruses, and even tumor cells.

Supplementing with TA1 can be beneficial for treating autoimmune diseases and infections like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, eczema, psoriatic arthritis, asthma, Lyme disease, mold exposure, and Epstein-Barr virus.

  • Tesamorelin is another human growth hormone (HGH) stimulating peptide that has a proven ability to target and reduce visceral fat and triglycerides, as well as help reduce plaque formation in blood vessels. Additionally, it may also improve cognitive function in those at high risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
