Kaisa Coppola, DC

After finishing her undergraduate work, Dr. Coppola planned to obtain her Master’s degree in psychology to pursue a career in counseling until a snowboarding accident led her into three consecutive knee surgeries. A year later, Dr. Coppola was still in a knee brace unable to resume her active lifestyle. Frustrated with traditional medical care, she visited a chiropractor who specialized in Applied Kinesiology and Clinical Nutrition. By focusing on the root cause of her delayed healing process, the doctor was able to identify and treat other health imbalances. This included a thyroid autoimmunity and digestive issues. Within a few weeks, not only was Dr. Coppola running again and back to her normal activities, she also had more energy and focus.

“It’s as if everything came together at once for me. I realized that there are so many components to our health and our body’s ability to heal. I began to think about everything I do including the foods I eat to the thoughts I think…everything affects my body’s ability to be efficient and heal and thrive.”

Dr. Coppola decided to change paths and go to Chiropractic school to help educate people about how their choices affect their health, healing, and life. She specializes in Functional Medicine, Applied Kinesiology, and Nutritional Counseling.

Dr. Coppola has worked as a preceptor doctor for Southern California University of Health Sciences and has been a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and the American Chiropractic Association. She is currently a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine and was previously a member of the International College of Applied Kinesiology.

Holistic chiropractic eliminates interferences and activates the innate healing response of the body. Through the balance of structure, chemical, and emotional components optimal health is obtainable. Stresses from structural impingements, nutritional imbalances, overwhelming emotions, and toxic build up are all harmful to the innate healing power of the body. By clearing the body of these stresses, one will naturally progress on the path to complete wellness. Treatment is performed by focusing on the body’s energy and discovering the root cause of disease.

Dr. Wendy has spent many years studying the art of health, chiropractic, applied kinesiology, meridian therapy, and functional nutrition. Past studies include: certified personal training through the Cooper Institute in Dallas, TX, certified fitness instructing through AFPA, and counseling at Camp LaJolla, a California based fitness camp for teens.

Through the unique integration of various techniques she is able to promote healing in all levels of the body; physical, mental, and spiritual. “The microcosmic world within me is in battle,
I’m separated into two.
The battle is a lost one: no victory in sight.
Wounded warriors falling on exhausted land.
I have nowhere to return.
My head hangs low; my limbs heavy: my breath is still.
In this silence a whisper is heard: only in stillness peace will merge.
-‘how soft can you be?'”

Mihaela, Certified Massage Therapist & Holistic Health Practitioner

Mihaela’s greatest strengths are her determination and commitment. Her winning character was shaped most likely by her amazing performance as an Olympic athlete. She couldn’t have won a world championship title without a great ambition, a positive attitude and a hard-working spirit.

Ever since she attended National Academy of Physical Education and Sports in Bucharest – Romania – the human body therapy and healing was not merely a subject of study, but rather a passion.

Whether we think of our body as a vehicle and the soul as the driver (in eastern philosophy) or as the temple of the soul (in western traditions), there is no doubt about the importance of taking care of this support system for our mind and spirit.

Mihaela has an integral and holistic approach to the body work by keeping consistent and in alignment with the divine natural law which she believes we are all governed by.

“He who works with his hands is a laborer.
He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman.
He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.”
Francis of Assisi
